[:en]The firm Gruventa has signed a collaboration agreement with the company Ideagro (Agrifood Research and Development), whose purpose is to promote agrifood research, technology transfer and innovation applied to the agrifood world
Gruventa and Ideagro join forces in order to make progress to make the agri-food sector more competitive and profitable. In this sense, the general director of Gruventa, Fermín Sánchez Navarro, "this business alliance stems from the concern of both companies to promote innovation and agricultural development, so that producers obtain greater added value in their income."
One of the research projects of Ideagro, a company based in Lorquí, is the adaptation of blueberry cultivation in the Region as an alternative to declining crops such as tomato.
Gruventa's objective in this alliance is commercial activity, betting on innovation and assumes the commitment to promote this type of actions with companies such as Ideagro. The head of Gruventa points out that "as a consequence of this agreement, we are collaborating by making all the technical and human resources available to Ideagro to advance in obtaining new varieties or in adapting agricultural crops to the region's agricultural sector."
Pedro Palazón, head of Ideagro, has stated that in Spain they are leaders in R&D "but we are not capable of delivering these advances to our producers, which is why it is very important to sign this type of alliance, through which Ideagro will transfer all the innovation developed in the agri-food sector to the producers linked to Gruventa”.
The objective of both companies is to obtain healthier products (without residues), with a longer shelf life and better organoleptic characteristics, as well as better flavor.[:]
