CDTI: DEVELOPMENT OF RESISTANCE INDUCTORS IORDER TO PREVENT GRAPEVINE TRUNK DISEASES.
The grapevine trunk diseases (GTD) are considered one of the most relevant challenges of viticulture. These destructive diseases cause several damages every year in vineyards, and have become a main concern in all the wine producer countries. The Grapevine Trunk Diseases are very damaging for the sustainability of the wine patrimony, as the pathogens responsible for these diseases attack the long lasting organs, causing, on a shorter or longer term, the death of the vines. Esca, Eutypa y Botryosphaeria Dieback are the main fungus responsible for the rest of the diseases. The objective of this project was to control the GTD as well as its effect on the wine quality with a formulation based on the fermentation of yeast. The yeast formulation favours the synthesis of antioxidant and fenolic compounds increasing the wine quality.
